Ingredients:
- 400 g Khoya/mawa(You can get Nanak Khoya from any Indian grocery store)
- 50 g Almonds
- 50 g Pistachios
- 50 g Cashew nuts
- 50 g Raisins
- 500 mL Milk
- Ghee/clarified
- 2 tsp Butter
- 400 g Sugar
- Cardamom powder - as per taste
- 5-7 strands Saffron
Steps:
Firstly, grate the khoya/mawa, and keep aside.
Then in a pan add 2 tsp ghee and roast the dry fruits (almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts) on medium flame and keep aside.
In a grinder, chop all the roasted dry fruits and raisins coarsely and place it in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, put 5-7 strands of saffron in milk and keep aside.
Now in a pan, add grated khoya on low flame and keep stirring. When it starts turning light brown add milk, cardamom powder and sugar and keep stirring.
Gradually it will absorb all the milk and a thick mixture with nice aroma will be obtained. Now add the powdered dry fruits and blend it well. When the mixture is slightly brown in color and thick enough to bind, pour it in a bowl and allow it to cool down. Once it is at room temperature, bind them in the round shape (ladoos) and serve them.
(They can be stored up to 3-4 days)
For a twist, you can try these Ladoos with ice cream!
